Facilities: This community demonstration garden is managed by a volunteer group of stewards. There are raised vegetable beds, an herb garden, native plants for pollinators and more. A community orchard was established in 2021. Volunteers gather in the garden on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings in the spring, summer and fall. Overview
Belleville Heart Garden showcases native plants and sustainable gardening techniques appropriate to its urban neighborhood surroundings. The garden includes an orchard with an integrated system of rain gardens filled with native species to manage stormwater runoff for the benefit of people, plants and pollinators at the site. Volunteers keep the garden growing, open to the public, and free of charge.
