Witch hazel is a shrub or small tree that may grow 15 to 20 feet tall. Native to eastern North America, it may be found growing along woods edges and streambanks. Pruning is not usually necessary. Leaves turn a pretty yellow color in fall. One of the few fall/winter flowering plants. Makes a good screen or tall hedge.
