A perennial relative to black-eyed susan, orange coneflowers are common and spread easily in the garden. They are coarse and hairy. In the summer through early fall, they bloom with bright yellow-orange petals. No serious insect or disease problems, except they can be susceptible to powdery mildew. Deer tend to avoid this plant. Best planted in groups.
